Life Reflectionsfor Mother Lena Mae Jones - (Mother Lena) Lena Jones, the first born of four children born in the union of Chester Crider and Myrtle Haynes Crider inMcKenzie, Tennessee. Lena was born January 23, 1930 in McKenzie, TN. She completed her education atWebb Elementary, Middle and High Schools in McKenzie, TN. Lena confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated member of Johnson Temple C.M.E.Church in McKenzie, TN and was active in Sunday school, the Choir, Usher Board, and was a BrownsvilleDistrict delegate for many years. After graduating from Webb High School in 1947 Lena attended The Madam J.C. White Beauty College inHumbeldt, TN in 1948. In 1949 Lena owned and operated her own beauty shop in Huntington, TN. On August 8, 1950 Lena married her long-time sweetheart, Staff Sergeant Chester Jones of the UnitedStates Air Force. To this union four children were born. Lena traveled extensively throughout the countrywith her husband and children in the Air Force. After twenty years of service with her husband, Rev. Chester Jones, Sr., was honorably discharged. They retired in 1966 and moved to Hazelwood, MO where theylived for over 30 years. Lena retired from being a beautician and became a seamstress, cook and homemaker while overseeing thedevelopment and education of her children. Lena and her family united with The First Missionary Baptist Church of Robertson in Hazelwood, MO. Underthe leadership of Reverend Robert S. Johnson, Sr., she served faithfully with her husband and was a devotedservant to the church. She worked with the Youth Ministry and was a dedicated member of the Women'sMission group for over 10 years. Her husband Rev. Chester Jones, Sr., son Chester Jones, Jr., brother, Odie, mother and father preceded herin passing. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Stan, Juan and Charlotte (Teena); two sisters, Carolynand Dather; three grandsons, Nick, Cameron and Ron; one niece, Beverly; and three great-grandchildren,Amaya, Sandra and Davente.Interment:J.B.
