Life Reflections On December 29, 1973, "LaKeesha Rochelle" was born to Joseph (Joey) Martin, Jr., and Pamela Martin 'Nee Woolfolk. Keesha, as she was affectionately known matriculated as a product of the Berkeley School District, attending Airport Elementary, Berkeley Jr. and Sr. High School graduating in the Class of 1992. Her belief and love of God, as well as inspiration from loved ones (a special great-great-aunt, "Sissy") lead to her acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior and was baptized in 1983 by Dr. Levencia D. Tate at the Bridgeton Baptist, Church. There she was active in the youth ministry, choir, and usher ministry. A fun-loving, outgoing, adventurous, ambitious person, Keesha pursed several careers after high school graduation. These being: Vatterott Business College with a Certificate as a Paralegal, St. Ann's School of Cosmetology, and L' Ecole Culinaire Academy for her greatest love "Cooking:. There her specialty was baking and upon completion, she was employed at Companion Bakery as a bakery chef, creating theme appropriate cake designs. She was inspirational in organizing family dinners often presenting exotic recipes. An interest for fashion, she adorned many different hair styles and color. A great love for her brother, Jason, she was known as "Aunt "TT" to her nephew and nieces. Her "Special Love" for her daughter Cydnee was exemplified as she not only "Talked the Talk" but "Walked the Walk", the greatest way to train ones child. God cannot do something THROUGH us, if He is not doing some-thing IN us!! Few promises are as precious to the child of God as that of "Eternal Life". It is the Crown Jewel of Salvation. While all those are truly saved are blessed to love, serve, and fellowship with the Lord through this brief earthly journey; that pilgrimage is made so much more precious by the comforting assurance that it will never end. Though our bodies will ultimately die, our spirits are alive forever morel Despite her long battle with diabetes and many complications associated with it she exhibited much faith and courage at every different aspect. On Thursday, August 15th, she made. her transition into eternity. Special cher-ished memories will be shared by her phenomenal, strong-willed, faith-filled Mother Pamela, daughter-extraordinaire, Cydnee, brother, friend, confidant Jason (Tara), Nieces (Jaicha, JaNyah, Talia, Taniah), Nephew (Jason jr.), Grand-mother (Josephine Woolfolk), Significant Other (Jerry West), uncle, aunts, great uncles, great aunt, cousins, other loved ones and friends.
