Life ReflectionsKermit Ross Sutfield, son of the late Sidney and Sadie (Ross) Sutfield, was born at Toledo, Ohio, October 10,1925. lie passed away September 28, 2010 at 11:20 p.m. at St. John Mercy liospitaL St. Louis, MO. lie, his sister Alice, and their mother moved to Clayton, MO during his early childhood years. lie attended Attucks School in Clayton from elementary through high school. lie moved to Kirkwood in 1955 where he resided until his death. Mr. Sutfield was retired. lie had been employed at Nutone Cleavers at Del Mark Recording Co, formerly located in St. Louis County. lie pressed records for Del Mark and during his tenure there was pleased to have met numerous famous musical artists including Ms. Billy lioliday. lie loved jazz, blues, big band instrumentals and popular music. lie enjoyed sports, especially baseball, fishing, attending rodeos. Reading and political theory conversations were among his favorite pastimes. lie was a quiet, personal person who encouraged students to pursue higher education and was interested in empowerment and betterment of all people but frequently avoided crowded public venues. In recent years he devoted himself to caring for his sister Alice who is ill and disabled. lie loved God though he rarely attended Church services; liowever, he received Christ as his Savior during his recent illness ... PRAISE GOD! lie is survive by: a sister, Alice Davis of the home; three sisters, Elaine Moody (Curtis) of the state of Ohio, Julia Jeffries and Lola Jackson of the s~ate of Nevada; three brothers, Sidney Sutfield, Konnie Sutfield (Catherine) and Manney Sutfield, of the state of Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Interment -Laurel Hill Cemetery .
