Kelley James Whitfield

Kelly James-Whitfield, the dauhter of Mildred James and Roosevelt P. Minor was born September 24, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri. The following preceded her in death: Mother, Mildred James, father, Roosevelt Minor, twin brother, Kevin James, grandmother, and grandfather, Beverly Dickey and Clarence Dickey and (1) niece, Lashon Rhodes. She graduated from Kirkwood St. Louis County Nigh School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1989. She had a "funny" sense of humor and enjoyed talking, spending time with family, friends and laughing. Before her sickness came, she was looking forward to many exciting years to come. She was a homemaker for many years and also worked in the Home health Field where she obtained her Med-Tech certification, where she enjoyed caring for the sick and elderly. Kelly was joined in holy matrimony to Preston Whitfield on February 18, 2000 and she remained in love with him until the time she was called home. In additional to being a devoted mother, she was also Preston's best friend and the love of his life. To this union, two sons, Montrell James and Preston Whitfield, Jr., and one daughter, Chelsy Mullins. Kelly was a dedicated and loving mother, standing firmly by her sons, and daughter and supported them by being a role model in their lives and in all their endeavors. She will forever be the standard by which wives and mothers should be modeled. She leaves to cherish her beloved memory: her loving husband, Preston; two sons, Montrell James and Preston Whitfield of St. Louis, MO; one daughter Chelsy Mullins of St. Louis, MO; and one grandson, Montrell James, Jr.; three brothers, Nardy Simpson, Timothy Simpson and Paul James (Cora) of St. Louis, MO; four sisters, Patrice Rhodes, Val Simpson, Sheila Campbell and Neaven James of St. Louis, MO; step siblings; mother-in-law, Margie Simms; sister-in law, Cora James (Paul); brother-in-law, Pierre Campbell (Sheila); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
