Life ReflectionsKatie Esther Reed was the 3rd child born to Bert Carter and Addie (Fortune) Carter on March 27, 1924 in Creve Coeur Lake, MO. She is preceded in death by both parents and two brothers. She was educated in the Maryland fieights School District. She married Fredrick Reed on December 25, 1950. fie preceded her in death in August of 2006. Katie was united with the First Baptist Church of Creve Coeur in 1953. fier motto was to never miss church and her mission was to serve God with all her heart, love, commitment, and dedication. Katie was a vibrant and active member singing in the choir, serving with the WMU at church and with the Berean District, working in the kitchen, and serving faithfully as the church clerk for many years. Katie preferred eating at home and loved bar-b-que, buffalo fish, potatoes, and Pepsi-Cola. She enjoyed playing and watching baseball and at church picnic, her position was catcher. Every evening, around 9:00 PM, her sister-in-law Gladys Carter would call to chat about the day's events. This was Katie's signal that it was time to go to bed. As she departed this life, she was surrounded by her loving godchildren, M.L. Kirkwood (Betty), Donald Clair (Johnnie), Gwen Ross (Fred), and Roslyn Reed.
