ReflectionsJoyce Ann was a breath of fresh air to all who were in her presence. She knew how to light up a room and spark an atmosphere of energy and creativity.To some,she was an original" flowerchild".Her smile and sense of humor was contagious and brought warmth to those hurting or in need. She loved to work with her hands and created the most spectacular centerpieces. She was a collector of special things. She was innovative and could always find value in the things that were discarded by others. She was a hardworking and dedicated supervisor at Contico International for many years prior to her retirement. Her life and legacy will forever be embedded in our hearts and minds. Our beautiful flower,Joyce, was born on November 15,1954 in Biscoe,AR to Nadine Newsom and Berlin Hollomon, who both preceded her in death. She moved to St. Louis at an early age. Joyce attended Eugene Fields Elementary School and Sumner High School. She confessed a hope in Christ and joined Free Grace Baptist Church under the late Pastor Dan Craig. She was united in holy matrimony on April 5,1977 with Lawrence(Spody) Ianos,Sr. for approximately 24 years prior to his untimely death and raised 4 wonderful children: Berlin, Shantele, Schekii, and Lawrence, Jr. She rewed on April lO, 2003 to her confidant and friend, husband of 10 years, James(Smitty)Smith. Joyce departed this life on December 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. She was preceded by her son (Berlin) in death. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory; James (Smitty) Smith Children: Shantele (Corey) Taylor, Schekii (Orlando) Carter, Lawrence (Ashley) Lanos, (Onye); Stepchildren: Debra Smith, Alexander Smith, Teresa Jones; Siblings: Brenda James, Marilyn Minor, Jacquelyn (Louis) Bolden, Stephanie Hollomon, Melvin Hollomon Grandchildren: Deshanta, Dazzrion, Deontee, Brielle, Xalen, Berlin, Danielle, Donisha, Jeremiah, Braylon Ciore, Amaris, Corey II, Shianne Annie Smith, T'onna Jones, Alexandria Smith, Sammy Jones, Donte Smith Great-Grandchildren:Tommyiah Unique, Deontee Jr. Special Regards: Dorothy Edwards, Robert (Judy) Newsom, Melvin Newsom, Ernestine Newsom, Hezekiah Henderson, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
