Life Reflections Johnnie Mae Bryant was born January 22, 1940 in Round Fond, Arkansas. She was the daughter of George Washington and Lillie Pauline Murphy. She departed this life on May 18, 2020. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyrone Bryant, her parents, and her brother, Oscar Murphy. When she was around 4 years old, her family moved to St. Louis, MO. She attended Patrick Henry Elementary and graduated from Vashon High School. After high school, she began a long career at St. Louis State Hospital, where she retired after 30 years. She also sold Home interiors. She was joined in holy matrimony to Theodore Bryant on June 29, 1962. She had four sons. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church until 2004, when she becameill. She liked doing puzzles and collecting family pictures. She also loved music, in particular the Blues. Some of her favorite artists were Johnny Taylor, B.B. King and Bobby Bland. She loved to participate in radio contests and often won. She loved her family and enjoyed hosting the Bryant Family Reunions. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Theodore Bryant; three sons, Kelvin Bryant, Carlos Bryant, and Eric Bryant all of University City, M0; two sisters, Fearlie M. Givens of St. Louis and Georgetta (Eugene) Isaac of St. Peters, MO; two brothers-in-law, Russel Bryant and William (Eva) Bryant; three grandchildren, Takeisha Bryant, Darius Bryant, Deonna Bryant; three great-grandchildren, tchloe Wailer, Icarter Bryant, Nazir Waller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
