ObituaryAfter a long and courageous battle with the lingering effects of lIagent orangell and other related health problems, , John Henry Harris Jr. passed away peacefully on December 4,2008 at LodiMemorial Hospital in Lodi. CA surrounded by his cherished family. John was born and raised in St. Louis Missouri to parents Ruth and John Harris. He graduated from O'Fallon Technical High School in1967 where hewas an active member of the St. Louis rugby team. He served in the United States Air Force and Reserves from1968 until 1994, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. During his service. John reached the rank of Master Sergeant E-7and always took great pride in his service to the country. In addition. he was an accomplished architect at the firm of M.H. Engineers in Morgan Hill. CA for 24 years. Dorothy Ingram and John Harris were married September 5,1981. His joy was his family and his work. Despite the pain caused by his health problems he never complained. He was a hard and valuable worker and always had time for his family. John had a wonderful sense of humor and could make almost anyone laugh. Although John was a quiet and private person he was so grateful for all that everyone did for him. John Harris was a loving, caring and tenacious presence in the lives of many and will be remembered fondly in how he touched the lives of family and friends. John Harris is survived by his loving and devoted wife. Dorothy, his son Jamal Harris. loving brothers Wayne and Robert Harris. beloved sisters Wanda Harris and Donna Brown, caring step-son Keith Ingram. a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews. five sisters-in -law, one brother- in-law and friends.
