Janet Jacobs

Life Reflections NO VIEWING Janet was born January 30, 1949 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the only child of Mr. John and Mrs. Mabel Bannister. As a child, Janet attended Unity Chapel with her parents in Saint Louis, Missouri. Throughout her life she continued to exercise her faith by regularly studying The Word of God, and visiting Temple Church of Christ and Perpetual Praise and Worship Ministries. Janet worked as a social worker for the City of Saint Louis Department of Health for most of her professional career. Janet was the foundation of her family. As she raised her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren she instilled values of family togetherness, love, integrity, discipline and community. She was affectionately known as Ms. Mikki to her friends and the friends of her children because of her exuding love for Mickey Mouse. Janet had a full and giving heart, and over the years donated generously to numerous non profits from The American Diabetes Association to various veteran organizations. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John and Mrs. Mabel Bannister, and two grandchildren, Adrian and Angel Hurst. Janet leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, 9 children: Teresa Thurman, Nye Hurst, Rhonda Hurst, Danyle Hurst, Adrin Hurst, Jada (Jimmy) Williams, Alonze A. Nsoah III, Shantia Hurst, Makita (Jayson) Hill, 34 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and an abundance of extended family and friends.
