HIS lIFE ... James Edward (Ackmed) Watson was born to Cornelious James Tanksley & Sidra Boston Watson in Richmond Heights, Missouri who both have preceded him in death. He entered this world on March 9, 1952. A beloved father, brother and grandfather he is also preceded in death by his grandparents; Booker & Fannie Boston, his daughter; Zeotta Watson, his sister; Janet (Jammeelliah) Foster and four (4) brothers; Cornelious Tanksley Jr., Lawrence (Kudah), Dennis (Thotmus) and Gene (Bubble) Watson. His Journey .. James received his education through Richmond Heights & the St. Louis Public Schools System. James met & married Mary Butler of Robertson, Missouri and of that union three (3) beautiful daughters where born; Zeotta (proceeded him in death), Khadija and Rah-Shema. He later decided to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. He served for 9 years and traveled abroad. After the military, James was employed with the United States Post Office for 9 1/2 years. Born an Islamite, James attended F AHAMME Temple of Islam of St. Louis, Missouri until 1977 and given the name "Ackmed." He later became a member of St. Luke AME Church under the leadership of Pastor Claudine Murphy. James or Jimmy as we affectionately called him was full of love and fun. When he was little, he loved to wrestle with his sister Gail to show how "tough he could be", but he would lose that fight every time. One of his favorite sayings: when you would say, "I love you", he would say, "I love you more." And let us not forget his cooking; the man could cook, the card parties and his style of dress; he would be clean as a "Broke Dog". Jimmy passed at home on May 22, 2012, but his love and memories, will last forever! Missing You ... He leaves his memories and love to his daughters Khadija & Rah-Shema Watson, his seven (7) sisters; Gail (Marwan) Hamilton of St. Louis, Mo., & (Thomas) of Fort Wayne, In., Denise (Thaha) Watson of St. Louis, Mo., Diana (Mertharti) Watson of St. Louis, Mo., Kim (Kimara) & (Darryl) Heggs of St. Louis, Mo., Susan (Habibba) Watson-Ross of Fort Wayne, In., & (Wendell) of St. Louis, Mo., Marla (Fatima) Graham of Fort Wayne, In. & Pamela (Christopher) Cain of Detroit, Michigan. He leaves hugs and kisses to his grandchildren; Kayotta (Ray Sean) Cathey, Jazmyne, Michael James, Jaceta Butler, Paige Gillman and Za'Bria Pullman and his great-grandchildren; Zyion Cathey & Xy' Aire Butler and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Interment - Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery 2900 Sheridan Road St. Louis, MO 63125 .
