James Edward Rush

Mr. James Edward Rush Jr. affectionately known as little James or Shorty has finished his final course. Beloved son of James Rush Sr. and Dorothy Edwards Rush was born on December 3, 1965. He was the youngest of two boys. In 1978 he confessed a hope in Christ and became a member of First Baptist Church of Elmwood Park under the leadership of the late Rev. John E. Hubbard and present pastor, Rev. Brian K. Jackson. James went to Ritenour School District and graduated in May of 1984. He served in the Marines and the Army Reserves for 3 years. James married Tabitha Lee and from that union they had one son, James Edward Rush, III. Tabitha preceded him in death in 1991. He also had another son, Joseph Harris, son of Karen Harris known as Joey. James remarried in 2007 to Michelle Lacey. James served in the SLMPD 7th district for 18 years until the time of his illness. He departed this life on April 20, 2014. His father preceded him in death in 1984 and his brother, Frederick Rush in 2007. James leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Michelle and his two sons Jay-Jay and Joey; his mother, Dorothy Rush, his aunt, Jean Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
