Obituary

James Elijah Redmond, Jr., affectionately known as "Jimmy", was born on March 19,1951, as the eldest of seven children to James Elijah Redmond, Sr.  and Thelma Alice Booth-Redmond.

At an early age, Jimmy was baptized at Union Baptist Church in Chesterfield.  After graduating from Eureka Hich School, he proudly served in the Marine Corp until receiving a medical discharge.  He retired from Maryville University after many years in a custodial role.

He has a passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities like hunting and fishing.  Jimmy loved watching western movies and pro wrestling and he had a fondness for blues and rock music.  He was an avid football fan and once tried out for the St. Louis Football Cardinals.  A natural jokester with a hearty laugh, he enjoyed reminiscing and sharing stories from his past.

On October 3, 2024, James passed away peacefully in his sleep.  He leaves behind cherished memories for his siblings: Layne, Barbara, Donald (Rhonda)and Jerry (Diana); his sister-i-law Natalie; his aunt Connie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr., and Thelma Redmond; his siblings Kenneth and Sandra; his nephew Casey and niece Shelby.
