James Hunt Jr.

Life Reflections James Hunt, Jr. was born on August 7, 1948 in Harlem, New York to James and Bernice Hunt. He was the third of seven children, five sisters and one brother, living. James received his education in New York Public Schools. James met Patricia Surles, and after a long courtship he could not live without her. In the seventies he asked for her hand in Holy Matrimony. To this union three children were born: Liberia, Tanzania and Zizwe. James began as an auto-body technician, he had a love for cars and took pride in his work. James' hobby was fishing; he enjoyed fishing with his son and grandson. He would always say he had a secret way of catching fish. When no one else got a catch, he would. James was a firm believer in the word of God during the year 2006, he became a member at Richmond Heights C.O.G.I.C. where his father is the pastor, Elder James Hunt, Sr. After a lengthy illlness, James departed this life on Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at Barnes Jewish Hospital. He leaves to cherish his meory: his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Hunt; two daughters, Liberai (Gunell) Jones, and Tanzania Hunt; one son, Zizwe Zimbabwe Hunt; father James and mother, Bernice Hunt; seven grandchildren, Roosevelt, Gunnell, Gunnette, Tayeon, Liberia, Teri, and Tanzel AKA (TJ); one brother, Allen (Alinda) Hunt; five sisters, Barbara (Herbert) Wilson, Linda (Michael) Adkins, and Marcia (Lynn) Bentelky; two uncles, Peter Hunt and Charles (Brenda) Hunt; two brother-in-laws, Frank Spruill and Rosell Surles; three sister- in-laws, Odelle Surles, Edwinia Surles, and Elizabeth McDonald; twenty-nine nieces and nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. We will always love and miss you. Internment: Lake Charles Cemetery Saint Louis, Missouri .
