ObituaryJames Henry Fantroy (affectionateiy known as "Jimmy) was born February 14, 1958 to William and Bertha Fantroy in St. Louis, Missouri. James was the fifth of eight children. His father William A. Fantroy and brother-in-law Hurley Nickens preceded him in death. As a young man, James accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was educated in the Kirkwood Public School district. James was employed by Northem Brothers, Viking Restaurant and later operated his own lawn care business until he retired. As an avid sports fan, James started playing football in his youth for the Kirkwood JFL, later developing into one of the star running backs. tie also had a love for baseball and was a very good pitcher for the Kirkwood Khoury League. This love later transitioned into his determination to watch his final MLB All-Star Game with his family by his side, a couple days before his death, James departed this life on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his mother's home. James leaves to cherish his memory: his mom, Bertha Fantroy; two children, Timothy Woods and James Perks; 2 brothers, William Fantroy, Jr. (Marsha), and Stephen R. Fantroy (Glenda); 5 sisters, Gloria Jean Nickens, Judy Best-Person (Bruce), Debo- rah Carter (Orlando), Sherry Fantroy-Ross (Louis) and Angela Fantroy-Ford; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Interment:Oak Hill CemeteryKirkwood, MO .
