Life ReflectionsJacqueline "Jackie" Love Stone was born on August 19, 1943 enroute from Jackson, Mississippi to Missouri. Jacqueline love was born to the beautiful union of the late Alfred Love and Charlie Mae Love along with her older brother, Samuel Love -Russell II and her beautiful baby sister, Christine Love. Upon arrival to Missouri they settled in a small subdivision called Kinloch, MO. At an early age of life she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a proud member of New Hope Baptist Church formerly in Brentwood, MO. Jackie attended Catholic Schools most of her life and graduated from Holy Angel School in 1957. In 1961, Jackie graduated from Kinloch High School with her class-mates, Claudette Williams and Shirley Buford. Her favorite activities in school were playing the clarinet and being a Majorette. At the age of 18, Jacqueline married Henry Bradford. To this union was born her eldest son, Henry Mancini Bradford. Jacqueline would then marry two more times. The second union was to Rufus Parker, father of two more sons, Glenn Anthony Parker and Christopher James Parker. Her son Glenn Parker was religious, gentle and kind. Her son Chris was caring, open-hearted, and passionate. Her final union was to a man she personally spoke of as a "Blessing to her Life". His name is Emmitt Osker Stone whom she often referred to as "Skip". In her professional career, Jacqueline worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company, Famous Barr (May Company) and was a supervisor of SLATE program at Dunn Center at the Peabody Projects. In 1972, Jackie petitioned the help of Mayor Alfonso J. Cervantes, for hot lunch program for the City of St. Louis. She held the 1st Black Bible study class at St. Stevenson Church in Downtown St. Louis. She attended forest Park Community College, Harris-Stowe State College and The University of Missouri. In 1992, she attended The Lutheran School of Nursing, Jackie obtained an Associate's Degree in Psychology. Jackie was proud to have worked as a Physical Therapist at STL State Hospital. She also worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital along with her friend Shirley Mason. Jacqueline raised three boys mostly on her own whom she cherished. Jacqueline found the time to instill values in them that would last a lifetime. She taught them, about religion, compassion for one another, and a high degree of social studies with an emphasis on politics. She often read them Bible stories to teach structure. In 1969, Jacqueline moved her boys to the St. Louis Peabody housing Projects. Although, there were trials and tribulation, this was one of the most fulfilling experiences of her life. This is where she met enduring friends that would last her a lifetime. Jacqueline referred to her beloved nieces, Cynthia Johnson and Lisa Johnson as the closest sisters she has ever seen. And their brother, Michael her nephew as a great father figure. One of the greatest sorrows in her life was not seeing her loving sister, Thresa Hoke and her dear nephew, Kenny Hoke before she passed. Jacqueline had a passion for traveling, cooking, devotion towards children and storytelling. One of her favorite places to visit was San Francisco, CA to see her grandchildren, Jacqueline and Henry Jr. Jacqueline departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Love and Charlie Mae Love, brother, Samuel Love-Russell II, and sister, Christine Love. She leaves to mourn in her passing, husband, Emmitt Stone; three sons, Henry Mancini (Laytoya) Bradford, Glenn Anthony Parker, and Christopher James Parker; one daughter, Michaela President; two grandsons, Aaron Simpson and Henry M. Bradford, Jr.; One granddaughter, Jacqueline Bradford; one sister Theresa Hoke; two nieces, Cynthia Johnson and Lisa Johnson; two nephews, Kenny Hoke and Michael Johnson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cherished family and loving friends. Peabody Housing Project Alumni friends, Esther McSpadden, Doloris Ball, Ms. Hooker, Ms Cooper, Jean Cantrell, Felicia "June" Robertson, Bernice Garrett, The Wingo Family, Mr. Roberts, Flo Patterson, Mr. & Mrs. McCoo, Morgan Family, The Morris Family just to name a few.
