Reflections Of Mrs. Ista Lee Jackson's LifeIster (Ista) Lee (Rasberry) Jackson was born on June 3, 1914 in Timpson, Texas. To the union of Alex and Zillah (Richard) Rasberry. tler parents along with (2) sister and (3) brothers preceded her in death. Ister accepted Christ as her persomu Savior at the age of twelve in Timpson, Texas. Ister moved to St. Louis, Missouri at the age of sixteen where she joined First Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Dr. James Bracy. Ister became a teacher and superintendent of the Cradle RolL worked in the BYPU, attended the National Sunday School Congress of Christian Education and later became a Deaconess. She was joined in tloly Matrimony to Mack C. Dugger who preceded her in death. To this union one child, Anne (Anna) L. (Dugger) tlolsey was born, Anqe preceded her in death. She later met and married Joseph (Joe) S. Jackson, who also preceded her in death. Ister attended St. Louis Public Schools. She was employed since the age of sixteen; she worked for Jewish tlospital in their gift gallery for many years, she was assistant supervisor at her friends (the Lanes) household for numerous years. After her retirement she was able to enjoy her family, church, friends and hobbies. Ista was a lover of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and for years she attended many home games and was a season ticket holder. She had many nicknames of affections. She will always be remembered by the many acts of kindness, inspiration, and strength. She believed in God's word and works. She once shared, "If I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vain." Istajoined Fifth Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Clarence J. DuvalL Sr. in 1986 where she was a most faithful and active member of the church. She served on the Mothers' Board until the Lord called her home. Left to honor her memory: 3 granddaughters, Deborah Drake, Cynthia (Carlton) Lewis and Brenda Drake; great-grandchildren, Donald (Denicia), Brianna, Brittaney, Brierra tlayes, Dianna Drake, Nicoli (Maurice) Maurissa and Christian Burney of GA, Melvin and daughters, Maliah tlayes, and Natlye Baldwin of GA ; nephew, Robert Jr. (Elizabeth) Morrison of Illinois, (Kenan and Jenna of Florida); 5 godchildren, and a host of other relatives and many, many friends. Interment -Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery St. Louis, MO 63126 .
