Life ReflectionsInez Brown Barber was born to the late Robinson and Ethel Lee Davidson in Woodland, Mississippi the second of fourteen children. Mother Barber grew up in Mississippi and graduated from Mary Holmes College in West Point, Mississippi. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Lee Ivy to which three children were born. She married Wilber Brown to which one son was born. Wilber preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, James Clyde Davidson, William Davidson, Arthur Davidson, Lonzo Davidson, Odell Davidson and Wadell Davidson. She later united in marriage with Dave Barber and joined with Eternal Light Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member for over 30 years. She served as Pastors' Aid president, member of the #1 Choir, Mother's Board, and Prayer Team. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Dave Barber; three daughters, Flora Ivy, Lucille Ivy, and Minister lzola Ivy Toy; one son, Anthony Brown; one niece, Rhonda McCain (Ralph and son, Tyler) whom she raised; one granddaughter, Catina Roshelle Toy; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Henry Hayes-Toy, and Trinitee Uria Rainey; two stepdaughters, Sharon Ross and Patricia Gillespie (John); seven brothers all of St. Louis, Missouri: John Lee Davidson, L.T. Davidson (Christine), Charlie Sam Davidson (Ann), Lee Morris Davidson, Chester Davidson (Mary), Lilton Davidson (Dorothy), John Douglas Davidson; one sister, Reverend Hattie Smith of Miami, Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Davidson and two special sisters-in-law who were mantes and confidants, Modesia Davidson of St. Louis, Missouri and Helen Davidson, West Point, Mississippi. She leaves other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law. nieces. neDhews. cousins. and friends. -Acknowledgement- There's a very special thanks within our hearts for each of you, because you cared and showed it in thought and deed. You so willingly came to assist us in our sorrow, grief and distress. You gave us comfort when we needed it most.
