Life Reflections
TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON, TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN: A TIME TO BE BORN, AND A TIME TO DIE; EC. 3:1-2A)
Holly Marie Wagner entered this life to begin living out her purpose on May 26, 1999. Her arrival was a blessing and a tremendous joy to her parents, Karl Sr. & Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Wagner, and older siblings Leah and Karl Jr. From the very start, they knew that baby Holly was special. She was a bubbly, loving, and very kind little girl. Her family had so many favorite nicknames for this precocious little lady; Bean Bag, Junebug, Boots, H. Bean, and Bucket. Her brother has described her as a "melting pot", taking away little bits of each family member's personality to form her own uniqueness. As she grew, her personality began to emerge. She insisted on fairness and was always a defender of the underdog, yet she had a competitive spirit, especially for winning family game nights. Holly's pint-sized leadership began to show very early in her young life. To the amusement of family and other observers, when Holly made up her mind about something, her older siblings would follow her. Holly's loving heart extended not only to people but to animals as well. So much so that she thought she would become a veterinarian someday. At Valley Park High School, she was an honor roll student and a cheerleader before graduating in 2017. Fellow students remember her for her great sense of humor and her joyful personality. They also remembered that she had firm beliefs and could be no-nonsense when needed. She stood up for her friends with a brave and fearless spirit.
After high school, Holly followed in her older sister's footsteps by attending Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. During their time together in Nashville, Holly and Leah's bond deepened and strengthened through conversations, quality time, and traveling. Los Angeles, Chicago, and Mexico were only a few of the sights for some of their greatest adventures. They enjoyed cooking together and sharing meals with friends. Although Holly was the younger sister, she watched over her older sister with fierce protection, no different than that of a mama bear. She was her sister's greatest supporter, her confidant. During this carefree time of her life, Holly' s many talents emerged. She loved celebrating holidays and was always ready to open her home for a party. If Holly was hosting, you were in for a treat, from the festive decorations to the Chemed menu.
Holly had many gifts and whatever didn't come to her naturally, she learned quickly. YouTube was a great resource for her. She would watch DIY videos, master the skill, and add her own flare to whatever project she was working on. Holly had her own unique style and wanted to share her gifts with others in her own way.
After graduating from Fisk University, Holly became a certified pharmacy technician. During this time, Holly started to give more serious thought to her future. Her childhood dreams of becoming a veterinarian pivoted as an adult who now wanted to explore dentistry. She began preparing to take the DAT (Dental Admission Test).
Holly was multifaceted and had many dreams and aspirations, one of which was to join a sorority. During an interest meeting, she met and became instant friends with Natalie White. They were inseparable from that moment on. They supported one another and always had the other's back. While their dreams of being sorority sisters were not realized in this life, they were indeed sisters. When you saw Holly , Natalie wasn't far behind. They were both beautifully joyful lights in this world. Recently, they decided to share an apartment and found a lovely home for their new adventure together. During their move, however, life took an unexpected and tragic turn as these two beautiful lights were extinguished far too soon. Holly and Natalie brought love, laughter, and joy to the world through their vivacious and charismatic personalities.
Holly was a frequent visitor at the Watson Grove Baptist Church, in Nashville, Tennessee along with her sister. She had a deep love for family and a formidable spirit when it came to protecting those she loved. Once in a serious conversation with her sister, she made a statement that would later be recognized as prophetic. Holly told her sister, "I have to go first because if anything happened to any of y' all, I would lose it." Holly's short time on this earth was lived to its fullest. She was determined to make the best of any situation. Even through the most challenging times, her zest for life never waned. It was once said , "Holly had an unexpected smile you didn't know you needed."
On August 3, 2024, Holly's radiant smile and bright light were senselessly snatched from this world. Although Holly' earthly journey has ended, the legacy of her life and light of her love live on through her mother, Cynthia(Cindy)Wagner; father, Karl (Chris)Wagner; sister, Leah Wagner; brother, Karl Jr.; sister, Sonata(Malik)Hagens; grandparents, Joyce Smith(Brian Tappin); Leslie Thompson, (Loretta): Leonard Smith(Patricia); many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, a niece, a nephew, and a goddaughter who loved her dearly.
LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. MATT.5:1
