HERCHELL GRANT CLARK, was born December 22, 1938 in St.Louis, MO. He was the oldest son of Herschell and Mildred Clark. "Sonny" as he was called by his family went to Banneker Elementary ande graduated from Vashon High School. With his siblings, he attended Central Baptist Church, and was baptized by Pastor T.E. Huntley as a young boy. He served in the U.S. Air Force for several years. After which, he began working at the downtown Post Office, where he remained employed for the next 52 years. He often mentioned that he enjoyed his work and enjoyed being with his co-workers. On November 29, 2009, we celebrated his retirement with a party, where many of his co-workers and family members attended. Herschell, was an excellent carpenter, he loved hunting, cooking and seeing good movies. Being with his children and family members was a joy to him. On Sunday, Nove3mber 14, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, he departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Janet; his son, Herschell; his daughter, Talya; two sisters, Barbara Johnson and Betty Clark; four nephews, one niece, many cousins, and many dear friends who loved him. His father, mother and younger brother, Teddy preceded him in death. INTERNMENT: J.B. National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO .
