Herbert Eugene Cole, Jr.

Obituary Herbert Eugene Cole, Jr. was born March 2,1952 in the basement of Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Herbert, Sr. and the late Priscilla Cole. He was the only son to this union and the favorite grandchild of Mollie and Virgus Cole. He attended the First Church of God of Richmond Heights and during his youth, was a member of two special singing groups, The Starlighters and The Inspirational Specials. Herbert Jr. grew up in Richmond Heights and graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights (l'vIRH) High School. He received a B.S. in Business from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. There he met and married Opral Davis, also taking on the role as a loving stepfather to Tina Davis. To this union, one' child was born, Terri Elaine Cole. Herbert Jr. later married J ayne'Salerno, also taking on the role as a stepfather to Charles and Alex Salerno. He excelled in math and was a member of the MRH math club and honor society. He willingly utilized those skills to tutor neighborhood children. Herbert Jr. was a manager at Kroger Grocery store, a manager at Southwestern Bell and a valued employee of the St. Louis Public School District where he served many years of dedicated service. He loved working with the students and they all loved him. Herbert Jr.'s love for his family and their love for him was indisputable. He was always the life of the party with his quick wit and humorous jokes. His greatest joys were walking his daughter down the aisle during her wedding in July and being Cameron's grandfather, who affectionately called Herb ... Y urn, Y urn. He leaves to cherish his father, Herbert Cole, Sr.; daughter, Terri (Quanackie) Brown; sisters, Diana (Donald) Brown and Marylynn (George) Sims; grandson, Cameron Cole; special friend, Althea Buckley; four nieces, one nephew, two great- nephews, one great-niece, cousins and numerous friends. Interment -St. Peters Cemetery .
