Life ReflectionsHarold Lee Ellison was born to Lucinda and Hughie Ellison, Sr. on April 18 1941 in Clayton, Missouri. He departed this life on May 30, 2017. his mother and father preceded him in death, as well as eight siblings, Nellie, Dezzie, Dorothy, Ruth, Bertha, Mary, liughie, Baby Ellison, and one son. Harold attended James Milton Turner School and Kirkwood High School and served two years in the United States Army. tie met and married his first wife whose name was Lorraine. They had two children and that marriage desolved. tie later remarried. Harold moved to Oakland, California and worked at several hospitals there. He later was hired as a Process Server. He became a member at The First Church of God in Oak-land, where he enjoyed singing and was active in the church under the former Pastor Rev. Cynthia James. His hobbies were fishing, singing, writing poetry and playing dominoes and cards. He published a coloring storybook for children. He compet-ed against some 5000 members of the Internat-ional Society of Poets, won the Poet's Choice Award at the Washington, DC Hilton Hotel. He gained a book publishing contract, plus two plaques including The International Pact of Merit Award and a four piece set, of Pierre Cardin Safari luggage. In addition, he was interviewed by Florence Henderson, star of TV's The Brady Bunch. Upon returning to St. Louis, he attended The New Cote Brilliante Church of God and Kiriloch Church of God until his health failed him. He leaves to cherish his memories, four children (California & Chicago), one grandchild, two sisters, Patricia Hurst, Rose Hudson, three brothers-in-law, Elgin Hawthorne, Sr., Robert Hurst, Sr., Frazier Hudson, 24 nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
