Matthew 5:3-8 ~~ Gladys E. Carter was born June 23, 1921 to the proud parents, John and Katherine Yokely. she was the youngest of six children (Vera, Samantha, Margaret , Dolly and Johnny all preceded her in death), a mother to three beautiful daughters Joyce, Marilyn and Beverly. She united in Iloly Matrimony to Ralph C. Carter on June 4, 1952 (preceded her on March 22, 2013), together they raised their daughters and enjoyed 61 long beautiful years together. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member at St. Luke A.M.E. Church under Reverend DeWitt Graham. She was a faithful member until her health started to decline, but she continued to listen to Reverend Claudine Murphy every Saturday evening on the radio. She attended St. Louis Public School District; a member of Madgalene Chapter No. 69 (Eastern Star Division) ; worked in a few areas throughout her life as a cook, nurse assistant and retired from Watlow Electric. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, reading, crosswords, seek & . find puzzles, poetry writing, reading, game shows, and most of all to worshipping the Lord. Gladys peacefully depart this life on September 13, 2013 while at home . She leaves to celebrate, cherish and remember her love: daughters, Joyce Jackson, Marilyn Ragland (Joseph), and Beverly Catlin; sixteen grandchildren, great - grandchildren, great - great - grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her St. Luke A . M.E. Family. All the pain and grief are over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last! Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you all dearly still; try to look beyond earth's shadows, pray to trust our Father's will. Interment: J.B.
