ObituaryGertrude Collins was born the fourth child to Mason, Sr. and Addie B. Green in Aberdeen, Mississippi, on August 17, 1925. She was united in holy matrimony to Mack L. Collins, Sf. in 1944. To this union eleven children were born. She moved to St. Louis, MO in 1968 and joined Old Community Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member until her passing. She departed this life on Sunday, May 11, 2008. She will be remembered for her loving ways and "do anything for you attitude." Her carefree approach to life inspired many. She leaves to cherish her memory: eight children: James (Barbara) Collins, Bernice Beverly, Mack L. (Qureda) Collins, Jr., David (Beverly) Collins, Thomas O. Collins, Chester L. Collins, Kenneth (Marie) Collins and Craig (Connie) Collins; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with a host of many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Mack L. Collins, Sr., daughters: Gladys Ann Thompson, Linda Collins and Janice Marie Miller; brothers, William T. James, Raymond Green, Roy Green and Mason (Big June) Green, Jr. and sister, Laura Farewell. Momma: We will trust in God and doubt Him never, for you always told us, all who love Him, will live forever. There is nothing we will fear; for faith in God makes all things clear. We will be "Sitting looking one way" and, "Hoping to keep from stopping: until we meet again. Mama We miss you so much. To God be the Glory.
