Life ReflectionsGeraldine Ruth Finch was born on May 2, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Clarence Houston and Florence Mitchell. She was the second child of six children. Two sisters, Jaqueline Houston-Moore and Winifred Houston-Williams, one brother, Kenneth Houston, and her husband Isaiah finch preced-ed her in death. Geraldine confessed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was baptized at the age of 6 at New Hope Baptist Church in Brentwood, MO. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Maplewood, NO She rededicated her life in 1973 at New Testament Christian Church, and was an active member until she went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2017. Geraldine lived as God led her because she truly believed in the word of God. She was a true evangelist because she loved talking to people about Jesus in order to lead them to salvation. She graduated from Frederick Douglas High School in Web-ster Groves, MO in 1944. She was employed at State Hospital 40 plus years in the Psychiatric Ward. She loved those kids as though they were her own. Mom loved to shop at Lord and Taylor's Department Store, and to wear her high heeled shoes. She was a shopaholic. She enjoyed going to camp meetings and church conferences. She loved her son to pieces, he was her best friend. She loved having all of the young children around her, but especially enjoyed playing with her great-grandchildren. She was an awesome Nanna. Geraldine was a loving person and always would greet you with a smile. She will truly be missed by all. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son - Quinton Pearson (wife Vanessa); surviving siblings, 3 sisters, Willie Mae Houston-Smith, Sharon Woodruff and Synthia Farr; 2 brothers, Robert Houston III and Ronald Simpson; a special grandson, Abeku Pearson; surviving grandchildren, Ovelia (Terrence), Lawrence (Syunie), Angela, Brenda, Rita and Jeremiah; 21 great-grandchil-dren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends Ms. Mary Moore, Ms. Martha Williams, Ms. Isaiah, Mr. Alien Rowlinson Tahata Brooks, and Nelia Donaire. Special thanks to her care givers, Casey, Pam, Brenda and Syunie, and the men and women at the State Hospital, and the members of New Testament Christian Church.
