Life Reflections Georgia Mae Adams was born November 16, 1926 in Roseland, Louisiana to Eli and Gertrude Hitchen. Georgia Mae Surrendered her life to Christ at a young age at Big Zion AME of Roseland, Louisiana. She later came to St. Louis, Missouri in 1951. She became a loyal lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1953. She met and united in Holy Matrimony (to the late) Harry E. Smith in 1957, two childrencame from this union. She was widowed in 1982 , and later remarried (the late) Bernard Adams in 1990. Georgia Mae was always willing to give a kind word, or to open her home to anyone in need. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly for over 30 years. On July 6, 2018, Georgia Mae de-parted this earth at the age of 91 years. She was preceded in death by her (4) siblings, Lela Mumphry, Louise Foreman, John Moses,Melvena Houge, Clyde Hitchen, Sr., Stella Hitchen, Charlie Hitchen. She leaves to mourn: herdaughter and son-in-law Donna & Roy Jones of New Orleans, LA, her son and daughter-in-lawHarry & Gloria Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina, life long friend Agnes Frye, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of beloved friends.IntermentOak Grove Cemetery2700 West ClaySt. Charles, MO 63301 .
