AS WE REFLECT...on a notable life, we think of what the Bible teaches us in 2 Corinthians 5:8 ”to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.” Fred was wonderfully andmarvelously made by the LORD to grace this earth on April 24,1941. He departed his beautiful earthly vessel in exchange for a closer walk with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. For 84 years, Fred brought joy to those around him. His infectious laugh, his expressive eyes, his sense of humor, and his love for his family and community will impact us for even longer.
Fred was the 13th child born to the union of George Anderson Cutts & Willie Mae (Flood) Cutts, who preceded him in death. His life purpose was evident and present in everything he did and witnessed by everyone he met and befriended.
He received his early education through the Kirkwood Public School System. After completing his studies, he enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably until his discharge. Upon returning home, he began his professional career with Schneithorst Restaurant & Bar before joining VonWeise Gear, where he dedicated more than four decades of loyal service and forged enduring friendships. In his later years, he brought the same commitment and warmth to his work at Sam’s Club of Kirkwood. After leaving the workforce, he devoted his time and energy to his family, cherished friends, and enjoying good times at the Player’s Circle with “the fellas”.
At an early age, Fred was introduced to the church and the foundation of faith that shaped his life – sustained him until his peaceful transition to his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his parents, and all 12 siblings.
Fred leaves to rejoice his homegoing, his loving and devoted daughters, JoAnn M. (Larry) Johnson of St. Louis, MO and Roslyn Davis (Wayne) of Gambrills, Maryland, born from theunion to Vernita Keith. Also cherishing fond memories is his granddaughter, Madeline S. Cutts; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Urijah, S’Moriyah, Ariyanna and Aleyah of St. Louis, MO; Two Sisters-in-Laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
