Life ReflectionsFrances Maria Raney White was born the daughter of Raymond and Augusta Railey, named after her father's mother and aunt. She was the second oldest child of this union. As a child, Frances was always interested in learning and graduated from Sumner High School. Frances performed as a substitute teacher as she worked to receive her Bachelor of Science, Elementary Education and Master's of Education Degree, Secondary Education from the University of Missouri. As part of her receiving her Teaching Certification, she excelled as a Special reading educator, Social Studies educator, Adult and Early Childhood Education. Not being satisfied with a Bachelor's, Master's or her numerous certifications, she continued her education to achieve a Doctor of Religious Education and Administration from Lael College and Graduate School. Frances retired from the University of Missouri as a Coordinator of Student Employment, Placement, and Education Assistant. Frances' efforts in working in partnership with employers and schools in the hiring of business and education majors assisted many to achieve their dreams. Being true to her loving and giving nature, Frances was an active member of the Livingstone College Alumni Association that provided scholarships to deserving young students. She was a member of the Alpha Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. Omega Chapter, which provided scholarships for African young men striving for higher education or attending college. Additionally, she was a member of the National Association of Student Employment Administrators and the USML Retiree Association. Frances was a faithful member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church as was the Radey family for four generations. Frances and family members were active church participants and served in various church programs ranging from the Boy Scouts to singing in the choir. Frances was a Cub Scout Den Mother and guided her young sons and daughter to be upstanding citizens. Frances was an avid reader who loved the writing of the Bible and mystery books. Her favorite chapters were Joshua 1 and Psalms 91. The words gave her inner spirit strength to soar to great heights. Frances was full of love, loved her family, and bestowed that love on all that she encountered. She loved to spend time with family and family vacations were her greatest love. She travelled to Europe. Hawaii, numerous cruises, reunions, family excursions, and was always ready to make trips to visit her children and grandchildren. She was deeply loved by all and her way of living life was an example of integrity, honesty, faith and giving. Preceding her in death: her mother and father, Raymond Railey and Augusta Locke Railey; brothers, Robert, Raymond and Richard Railey. She is survived by: her sister - Cora Malone; and brother - Michael Railey (Mary); her children - Wesley, Charles, Brian and Lisa (Jeffrey); four grandchildren - Tylor, Zachary, Shelbey and Brionna; and two great grand-children - Zion Brown and Orlessa Deorron Brown, Jr.; She also leaves to mourn a host of family and friends ranging from an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins.
