Life Reflections Everett was one of five children born to Everett Fleming, Sr. and Clara Shepperd Fleming on January 8, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri. Both parents, and siblings Virginia, Melvin, Georgia, and Marvell preceded him in death. Everett was a kind and generous person. He gave selflessly to everyone. He was known around town as the nice guy by local merchants, bankers, members of his church, and by his family. Everett was an Army veteran and he was stationed in Alaska in the mid I 950's. Everett was a member of First Baptist Church of Webster Groves for more than fifty years, where he started the Men on Patrol Ministry, along with his friend, Nathan Tucker. The Men on Patrol ensure churchgoers are sale when crossing the street. Everett worked with local law enforcement and obtain-ed stop signs, reflective vests, flashlights and whistles, and he even painted a crosswalk sign on the street in order to ensure the safety of his fellow church members. Everett also supported the church by assisting with making meals during repasts, providing fruit snacks to children every Sunday for more than ten years, and painting the nursery. Everett truly loved the Lord and demonstrated this love by serving others. Everett retired from General Motors where he worked for more than thirty years. He started in Security and ultimately became the first African American foreman at the St. Louis General Motors plant. The effective managerial oversite he demonstrated at work served as the foundation for the service he provided to others in the name of the Lord. Everett was blessed to have had three wonderful wives: Joan Hannah, Loraine Jackson, and Betty Bazile. Family was very important to Everett and he proudly told everyone about his beautiful grand-daughters: Allyson Nicole Coburn, Natalie Loraine Coburn, and Hannah Cole McCullough Fleming. Everett wore a hat with the names of his granddaughters engraved on it as a sign of pride and he told everyone he met about his grandchildren. Everett loved his children: Bruce Fairington Fleming (Cheryl), Kerni Annette Fleming Coburn (John), and Marc Darren Fleming. He enjoyed spending time with both his immediate and extended family. Everett had a very fun-loving, charismatic, and charming disposition which endeared him to everyone he came in contact with. Left to cherish Everett's memory are his children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment: J.B.
