Erma Lucille Drayton

Life's Reflections Erma Lucille Shane was born on July 17, 1922 to Porter and Irabelle Shane in St. Louis, MO. In 1939 she joined in union to Harold Smith in which they had five children. Later she bore a daughter, Carla Davis. In 1958, Erma was lovingly joined in holy matrimony with Robert V. Drayton and God blessed them with four more children. Erma was many things to many people in her lifetime for her family and friends. But no matter what she was called on to do, it was done with nothing but love. In 1963, Erma gave her life to Christ becoming a member of St. Matthew C. M.E. Church and worked ever so diligently as a faithful servant. Her love for the Lord was passed on to all she met. She loved life and lived for the Lord. Erma Lucille Drayton was preceded in death by husbands, Harold Smith and Robert V. Drayton, three children, Gregory "Mickey" Drayton, Carla Davis and Harold "Skeeta" Smith. She leaves to cherish in loving memory her surviving children, Bobby Brownlee, William "Wood" (Fannie) Smith, Ellen "ReeRee" Brownlee, Shirley Smith, Robert Drayton, Jr., Regina Drayton and Melvin Drayton, her sister Marie (Jenny) Lane, three generations of grand, great and great great- grand children and nieces and nephews, two special ladies that she loved as daughters Elaine (Lanie) Dandridge and Lisa Shelley as well as a host of extended family and friends.
