Life ReflectionsEmma Ruth McCline was born on January 11, 1926 in Brownsville, Tennessee to the union of Percy McCline and Lettie Ann Laster. The family relocated to St. Louis where Emma Ruth was educated in the Public School System.Emma Ruth was joined in Holy Matrimony on December 49, 1951 to Wilbert Whitfield Farrell. To this union, two children were born: Gregory Nevin and Karen Yvette. After the untimely death of their daughter, Emma & Wilbert adopted, as their own, Karen Yvette's two children: Shannon and Jason Terry. Emma Ruth and Wilbert enjoyed 41 years of marriage. They were best of friends and totally devoted to one another until the Lord called him home on April 27, 1993. Emma Ruth's parents, husband's parents, sisters, Blanch Quinn, Correan Willis, Gussie Thompson, Frankie Thornton, brother Donald McCune and son Gregory also preceded her in death. In 1957, Emma Ruth accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost under the Pastorship of the Late Elder James Ward, Sr. She was affiliated with San Francisco Temple under the leadership of the Late Bishop Dwight McDaniels, Elder Eugene Garrison, Sr., and Elder Willie R. McMiller, Sr., as well as Elder Nathaniel Warren, who served as her Pastor at the time of her passing. Mother Farrell could always be found trying to help somebody, whether financially or by making sandwiches and taking to Larry Rice's Ministry or giving clothes to the needy. While financially able to do so, it was her delight to sponsor a child from World Vision. Mother Farrell was a faithful member of Brotherly Love West Christian Assembly, serving in several capacities, including the Mother's Board and Food Pantry Ministry. Many times the congregation was blessed by her distinct voice ringing out her favorite song, "I've Got Something You Can't Take Away!' A very special friendship and bond formed between Mother Farrell and her Sunday School Teacher, Joyce Morris. She dearly loved Sunday School and regularly attended until illness prevented her from doing so and she was moved to Beauvais Manor on the Park in April 2008. Sister Joyce remained steadfast in her dedication as a caring "daughter in the L01'd." faithfully visiting and doing whatever she could for Mother Farrell while she was living in her own home and all the years she was a resident of Beauvais Manor. While in Beauvais Manor Emma Ruth also developed a close friendship with staff member, Darlene Jamerson, whom she described as being "like a daughter" to her. Niece Carol King and nephew Michael Thompson were very devoted to their dear aunt, providing financial support, as was her niece, Martha D. Willis Graham, lovingly called "Diane." Mother Farrell was well-loved by family and friends and they were very dear and close to her heart. Emma Ruth McCline Farrell was released from this physical body to be present with the Lord on the evening of Tuesday, July 2, 2013 and leaves to cherish precious memories; one granddaughter, Shannon Yvette Patterson, two grandsons, Jason Alexis Terry and Courtney Nevin Farrell, three great granddaughters Kayla Grace Williams, Karen Elizabeth and Alexis Nicole Terry and one great grandson, Benjamin Isaiah Williams; two brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her Brotherly Love West and River of Life Ministries church family.
