Ellison Louis Redmond

Life Reflections Ellison (Mannie) L. Redmond was born on September 1, 1923 (the eldest twin) to Edward andLettie Redmond. He was the fourth of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents, threebrothers, twin sister and grandchild, Saleena. He attended school in the Webster Groves School District and graduated from Douglas High School. Ellison entered into holy matrimony with Dorothy L. Reed on August 2, 1952. To this union six child-ren were born, Lettie, Ella, Sabrina, Cynthia. Darryl and Kevin. Ellison joined the Army in 1952 during the Korean War. He worked at Straubs grocers for seventeen years and also started with own janitorial business. He retired from the maintenance department as a painter for Ladue School District. Ellison enjoyed bowling and was in many leagues for many years. He also enjoyed tending to his yard. Ellison joined Central Baptist Church and attended faithfully. He became a Deacon on February 27, 1994. He also played Santa Claus at the church's Christmas Program. Ellison leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 68 years, Dorothy, six children, Lettie. Ella, Sabrina, Cynthia (James), Darryl (Evelyne) and Kevin, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends for whom he holds a special place in their hearts.
