Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 A Time to Be Born Dorothy Jones Wilburn was born November 22, 1943 in Greenwood Mississippi to Isaac Gray and Mahala (Keys) Williams. Dorothy was the baby girl of six children. Her mother moved the family to St. Louis Missouri in 1949. Her parents (Isaac and Mahala) two sisters Margaret (Williams) Walker, and Josie (Williams) Giles, one brother Clarence Williams, and husband Leo S. Wilburn preceded her in death. A Time to Plant and a Time to Pluck Up That Which is Planted Dorothy knew, trusted, and loved the Lord with passion. Her mother Mahala made sure her children went to church on a regular basis. She learned to relay on the goodness of God's Grace and Mercy until the end. Her Faith was strong, and she came to know that fighting the good fight was the thing to do. She completed her education in the St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Vashon High School in 1961. She also attended Florissant Valley Community College. In 1964 she was employed by Lindell Trust Bank as the first black woman bookkeeping clerk. She enrolled and completed several courses at the American Institute of Banking as well as course related classes at The Urban League. In 1987 she Was elected secretary of the National Association of Bank Women. She mentored and train-ed new hires and current employees in her department. During her thirty-seven year tenure she rose to the position of Assistant Vice President. She manag-ed Lindell Trust Banks Bookkeeping and Data Processing departments until retirement in 2001.A Time to Die As Dorothy wished she was in the comfort of her own home when the Lord called her home to rest Sunday, November 24, 2019 after battling a lengthy illness. A Time to Mourn To cherish her memory she leaves: A loving daughter her only child Adriene Jones and devoted son in law Johnathan Jones. Two brothers, Eddie Williams and his wife Kathy Williams, Isaac Keys Jr. and his wife Beverly Keys, and their two children, a very special niece Shelena Keys and great niece Aureliana , a very special nephew Isaac Van Keys. A very special niece Lorinder Barnes and her husband Van Barnes. One very special cousin who was like a sister ViEtta Bew: and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Interment: J.B.
