Dorothy Ree Goston

Life ReflectionsDorothy Ree Goston was born June 29, 1943, in Shelby, Mississippi to Area Couch and Curtis Couch. She was one of twelve children from this union. At the age of eight, Dorothy relocated with her family to St. Louis, Missouri. Dorothy joined Augustine Catholic Church where she was a consummate servant in the Food Pantry Ministry. Her love for God and His people was evident in the way she cared for her family and in her personality, Dorothy never met a stranger. On July 20, 1972, Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to Robert Goston, Sr., and to this union four beautiful children were born: Maria Goston, Angela Goston, Robert Goston, Jr., and Mark Goston. Dorothy was a faithful wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother and was respected in the community. Not only was she always immaculately dressed, she was a fashion diva. After Dorothy's vigilant fight, the Lord called her from labor to reward on April 26, 2018 at 7:05 p.m. She is preceded in death by her parents, Area and Curtis Couch; husband, Robert Goston, Sr.; daughter, Angela Goston; sisters, Annie Lee Stepney, Mary Alice Brown and Faye Couch; brothers, Gus Couch, Jesse Couch, Sr., and Gregory Couch. Dorothy Goston leaves to celebrate her life: three children, Maria Goston, Robert Goston, Jr. and Mark Goston; three grandchildren, Twalla Thomas-Wilson, Shanicia Rogers and Demarco Dixon, Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Demarco Dixon, Jr., T'Nara Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jr., Ta'Kyshi Hanna and Ta'Seni Hanna; five siblings, Rosemary Couch, Maxine Couch Martin, Jacquline Boyd, Fredrick Couch, Curtis Couch, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including her best friend, Rose Stepney.
