Doris Jean Wagner

Life Reflections


Doris J. Wagner was born on April 3, 1965 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Lolether H. Clayborne and William Jenkins, II.


Doris attended Douglas High School as well as a boarding school in Alabama from which she graduated.

She was a devoted member of AME Methodist Church and her love for the Lord was instilled in her by her family.


In 1953, Doris married Karl D. Wagner and remained married for thirty-five years until his death in 1988. Later in life, she had a loving relationship with Issac Willis until his passing in 2019.


Always money savvy and always in charge, Doris was a Supervisor and Branch Coordinator for Boatman's Bank, now known as U.S. Bank.

Doris was an avid traveler and took many trips during her life. She was also an amazing cook, known for her famous peach cobblers and monkey bread. In addition to these things, Doris also loved to tend to her plants and paint.


Doris Wagner was a woman who took charge, was never afraid to speak her mind and loved her family fiercely. She will forever be missed.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Karl D. Wagner; life partner. Isaac Willis; brothers, William Jenkins III and Robert Jenkins and parents, Lolether Clayborne and William Jenkins,II.


Doris leaves to cherish her memories: a loving son - Karl C. Wagner, Sr. (Manuella Wagner); sister-in-law Sharion Jenkins (William Jenkins III), nieces - Samara Jenkins, Kathy Crosby and Sharon Crosby; nephew William Jenkins 1V; grandchildren - Sonata Hagens (Malik Hagens), Leah Wagner, Karl C. Wagner, Jr., Holly Wagner, William Coleman and Lashawnda Turentine; as well as a host of cousins' nieces and nephews.
