Life ReflectionsDoris Yvette Johnson, the oldest of seven children born to Hattie Pearl and George Sinkfield on May 8, 1953. Laterin her life she met her biological father, Charles Hall and+able to develop a loving father and daughter relationship.Both parents, brothers - George Sinkfield, Bryan and Tuhran Hall and her biological father, Charles Hall precededher in death. She was baptized in Jesus Name at an early age at the Bethesda Temple Church of The Apostolic, Inc., under thelate Bishop James A. Johnson and was filled with the Holy Ghost in October, 1964. Doris then joined the First MissionaryBaptist Church of Robertson under the leadership of her father-in-law, the late Reverend Dr. Robert S. Johnson, Sr.Doris attended both St. Louis Public and University City Schools, Namely Hanley Junior High and University City SeniorHigh graduating in 1971. Upon graduation, Doris entered into the work force holding a variety of clerical positions.In 1972, Doris married Alvin D. Williams. Of this union in August 1974, one son, Lamar Thomas was born in Kansas City,Missouri.Upon her return to Saint Louis, Missouri, Doris began employment with the University City Fire Department as Secretary.While working at the Fire Department, Doris Yvette met the love of her life, Robert S. Johnson, Jr. They were married onNovember 13, 1976 and to this union three children were born, Coree Yvette, Ryan (stillborn) and Robert S., III. They shared a loving union lasting 37 years until Robert's passing in August, 2013.After raising her children, in 1986 Doris returned as Secretary for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry and inearly 2000, because Payroll Specialist for Department of Finance. Doris was the epitone of a gentle spirit, a loving wife, wonderful mother, the perfect "Nana", a terrific daughter, the best "big sister" in the world, and she was a special friend to all.You were truly brought into the fold if you spent anytime in Doris' kitchen of the Johnson's dining room table. If you were ableto enjoy just a sample of her homemade rolls, fried fish or chicken, greens german chocolate cake - the list goes o and you knowyou had been truly blessed. Doris believed her cooking was her ministry and served on the culinary ministry at First BaptistChurch of Robertson under the leadership of Reverend Cornelius J. Osby. Doris truly loved the Lord and her family at "First".Doris Yvette made her transition Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 3:34 am in the presence of her children and her "Lesa Anderson:.Doris Yvette leaves to cherish her memories: her loving children - Lamar (Tamara), Coree Yvette and Robert, III (Paris); five grand-children - Jaylen, Logan, London, Laila and Evan; mother-in-law, Evelyn M. Johnson, five sisters - Mary, Angela (Gary), Deborah(Freddie), Erika, Wanakee; four brothers - Michael (April), John (Angela), Charles, Jr., Bernard; two sisters-in-law - E. Renee, Ida E.;one goddaughter - Jessica; two uncles - Ben and Leonard and two aunts - Euralean and Lois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousinsand friends.Interment:Oak Grove Cemetery7800 St. Charles Rock RoadSt. Louis, MO 63114 .
