Denise Lavonne Barrett-Myles

Life Reflection

Denise LaVonne Barrett-Myles , age 63 peacefully passed away on June 4, 2023. She made her transition surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and family. She is preceded in death by her Father, Robert Johnston, and Husband, William C. Myles.

Denise was born on August 31, 1959, in SL Louis Missouri. She was the daughter of Donna and Robert Johnston. She was the second of six children. She accepted Christ at a young age and grew up in Blackwell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church of Webster Groves, Missouri. Denise was a gifted singer and sang in the Young Adult Choir. She continued to use her gift to sing profession-ally for several well-known entertainers.

Denise attended Webster Groves High School, and Missouri College for nursing. She felt that her calling was to care for people. She exemplified this through working in the healthcare industry for many years, along with helping all that she could. She was extremely kindhearted, loving, fun to be around, and very humorous. Denise was quite the comedian and could imitate almost anyone. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She was most proud of being a mother, and a grandmother to her grand-daughters.

Denise leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, children: Corey, Kellyn, Justin, and Ian; two beautiful granddaughters, Kara and Londyn. Her siblings: Stephen Barrett, Shed Barrett, Spencer Johnston (Cyndi Johnston), Ryan Johnston, and Sheldon Johnston (JoAnn Johnston). She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, god-children; special sister/friends: Lucretia Houssel Littleton, Robin Davis-Hollwell, Michelle Jones, Yvette Porter, Robin Beals„ Donna Beavers Dee, Donnetta Bazile, Janice Beavers, Janelle Scott (Deceased), Charlotte Brooks (Deceased).
