Deborah Elaine Martin (Williams) was the third and last child born to the union of Roberta Williams (Carter) and Leon Williams on November 2, 1952. She was the A baby sister to two older brothers, James and Bruce Williams, who both preceded her in death.
Deborah grew up in the small town of Wellston, MO and she professed her faith and hope in Christ at an early age. She was educated in the Wellston Public School system and graduated from halter high School in 1970. She continued her education at SLCC Forest Park where she earned an Associate's Degree for her studies. She began her career as a social worker for the Department of Social Services. After a short time of working in social services, she left in 1979 to pursue a career at the United States Bankruptcy Court, where she would retire after 30 years of service. Early on in her career there, she met and fell in love with a handsome gentleman named Al Fred Martin. On August 29, 1981, she and Al Fred were married, creating a growing, blend-ed family. During their union, they both worked fervently as stewards of Grace Lutheran Church in Pagedale, Deborah and Al Fred lived happily in Holy Matrimony from 1981 to 2009 for almost 28 years before God called Al Fred to rest at his heavenly home.
Deborah was a well-known member of the Wellston community, who helped to beautify the area with her extraordinary green thumb. She created beautiful gardens with beautiful flower beds and loved spending her time tending to them. Deborah was also an avid reader who enjoyed reading books as well as newspapers to keep up with the current events in the world around her. She loved sports and traveling miles across the country to watch and support her grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. A humanitarian, she donated to many charities as well.
Deborah was a stern, but loving mother. She did not tolerate disrespect toward her or her loved ones. She always advocated for what she believed was right and would fight for anything that she deemed worthy. Deborah was not afraid to speak her mind and was very cerebral in everything she did. She was always thorough, always had a plan, and always thought ahead. She taught and instilled in all her children to do the same and always think, independently.
Deborah departed life as we know and understand on Friday, October 14, 2022. Although it pains us all that she had to go, we know that the plan of the Lord must be fulfilled. Deborah leaves to cherish her memories, four children: Leslie Williams (Bill), Randy Willis (Jodie), Jaracz Martin (Cara) and Brian Martin (Melanie). She also leaves eight grandchildren: Anthony, Elijah, Antewon, Rand, Jaracz Jr., Brandon, Samira, and Jax, as well as other relatives, dear friends, and former colleagues.
