Deacon Mckinley Lane

Life ReflectionsMcKinley Lane was born in Hayti, MO on August 23, 1926, one of 10 children of Adolphus and Hattie Lane. His parents and siblings preceded him in death. McKinley served his country as a member of the United States Army. While serving in the Armed Forces he received many awards, including the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with Japan clasp, Honorable Service Lapel Button World War II and Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar. On March 18, 1952 he was united in Holy matrimony to Dorothy Mae Overall. To this union of 51 years, 10 children were born. His wife Dorothy Mae, daughter Brenda and his son Garry preceded him in death. McKinley was a loyal employee of the Potter Electric Company. He retired from his position as Supervisor of the Auto Mechanics Department in September 1989 after 39 years of dedicated service. During his retirement celebration, many spoke of his candid nature and quick sarcasm that they all came to love and respect. Lane received Christ and became a faithful member of Saints Revival Center Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Dickerson in 1982.
