Cynthia Louise Sloan-Wiley
Cynthia Louise Sloan-Wiley was called to glory on December 7 , 2024 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born on November 18, 1954 to the late Marion Ruth Johnson. She was the oldest of seven children.
Cynthia was preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel Wiley; her mother , Marion Johnson; two siblings, Tillie “Monie” Booth and Dale Johnson; two nephews , Derick Johnson and Joseph “Bam Bam” Long; and a special friend, Robert Hanley.
Cynthia was united in Holy Matrimony to Kirby Sloan in 1972 and to this union three children were born. In 1992, Cynthia married Samuel Wiley and to that union one child was born.
Cynthia was baptized by Reverend Dorsey at Union Baptist Church of Chesterfield, MO at an early age where she remained a faithful member until her passing.
Cynthia received her education through the Rockwood and Webster Groves School District. She had a longstanding career in the health care field as a caregiver. But, that was only one of her many professions. Many would say that Cynthia excelled as a housekeeper, babysitter, mechanic, lawn care specialist , friend and support system to all .
Cynthia loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her heart! She was the neighborhood grandma. She was the go-to person for any and everything for so many people and she didn't mind. She enjoyed being a helping hand to those around her regardless of how long she knew them. She was the biggest supporter and certainly the matriarch of our family.
Cynthia had many accomplishments and passions . She did outstanding volunteer work all throughout her community. She enjoyed watching her Soap Operas , crocheting and sewing but most of all she loved going to the casino. Jokingly, when asked where she was , we would respond with, “She’ s at work” and everyone knew that meant the casino. It was home away from home for her and her devoted work companions; Doreen, Patty, Zetta, Ronda, Terry and Nora. She also had a special friendship with Tina, Michelle, Howard and Susan.
Cynthia leaves to cherish her legacy and loving memories: 4 daughters , Angel Sloan, Missy Sloan, Chanta Tatum (Marcus) and Veronica “Bj ” Million; 4 granddaughters , Kyla, Kyra, Courtney and Jordyn; 10 grandsons , Clyde, Corey, Kyren, Jaiden, Sammy, Marcus , Jamiir , DaMarcus , Jerry and Jayden; 4 great-grandsons , Legend, Reign, Mecca and Knowledge; 3 bonus granddaughters , Cori , Jordi and Jy’Asia; 3 brothers , Joe (Sherry) , James and Darnel l (Tammy) ; 1 sister, Hope; 1 great aunt Connie Frazier ; 3 aunts , Florence, Doreen and Patty and a host of nieces , nephews and other relatives .
