Life Reflection
Curtis Green was born on June 12, 1954 in Fort Necessity, Louisiana to the proud parents,
Simmie Green and Joannie Belinda, who preceded him in death. As time went on
things happened and he gained a stepfather, L.C. Joiner and a stepmother, Mae Green,
they also preceded him in death.
Curtis graduated from University City Senior High School in 1973. He was known as Curley
to all. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation until 1990.
In his young adulthood Curtis met Ms. Lesa Upchurch and to this union his beloved children,
Latasha and Curtis were born. Heartbreakingly, Lil Curt preceded him in death in 2019.
Curtis professed his love for Christ at an early age and was baptized in Winnsboro, Louisiana.
He was quite the outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Then he would prepare some delicious
meals from that game meat. He was a talented cook all around. He was very handy and could
fix almost anything. He loved sports and his family. He was always smiling, teasing, telling some
crazy story, and making people laugh. He never met a stranger.
Curtis departed this life on April 1, 2024, at 1:30 in the afternoon. He is survived by: His daughter,
Latasha Green (Donnell), sisters, Rhonda Johnson (William) and Melissa Alexander (Buck); brother,
Simmie Green; grandchildren, Cortlin, Dylan and Alyssa. 10 nieces and nephews and a host of
other relatives and friends.
