Life Reflections Cleo Canterberry was born in Noxapater Mississippi on November 28, 1928 to Philip and Mary Hawthorne. She was the last of eight children. She was educated in the Winston County Educational System and after graduating high school, she married Frank Canterberry. Cleo moved to Saint Louis, Missouri, joined New Sunny Mount Missionary Baptist Church and held various jobs until she fully retired in 2004. She worked as a nurse's Assistant at City Hospital #1, City Hospital #2 (Homer G. Phillips) and Delhaven Manor. She was also a beautician and a security officer for Saint Louis Public Schools Board of Education. Cleo loved to cook and care for her children and grandchildren. She was the proud mother of Willie Frank, Rosemary, Mary, Patricia, Stanley Christopher, and Tracey. Cleo opened her home as a foster mother to many children over the years and in 1984, she adopted and welcomed Samantha to the family. Cleo's parents, brothers, sisters, and daughters, Rosemary and Mary, preceded her in death. On August 11, 2011, at the age of eighty-two, Cleo entered into eternal rest. Cleo is loved, cherished and remembered by: her children, Frank (Nina) Canterberry, Patricia Canterberry, Stanley Canterberry, Christopher (Vasheba) Green, Tracey Canterberry, and Samantha Canterberry; twenty-one grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends. She also had two lifelong friends, Mrs. Yvonne Jones and Mr. Winthrop Boykins.Interment -St.Peters Cemetery2101 Lucas-Hunt RoadSt. Louis, MO 63121 .
