Life Reflection
Chris Ingram was born on July 26, 1955 to the proud union of John Frank Ingram II and Barbara Ann Marie Marr in Webster Groves, Missouri. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; three of his brothers: Kevin, Gary, and Leonard; and one sister-in-Law: Everlean.
Chris Ingram received his education from Douglass, a segregated school in North Webster Groves. Chris was instilled with a fear and love of God, taught to him by his grandmother, Nealivee, and his mother, Barbara Ann. He was raised as a member of Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ.
Chris Ingram owned several businesses. In partnership with his brothers and sons, Chris purchased a car lot and conducted business through his company, "Lion King LLC." He was a man with many friends, and while he loved spending time with his family, he was adamant about the love and friendship he shared with his brothers.
Chris Ingram's family will remember him as the family comedian he was. He could light up a room with laughter and his presence was always felt by those who knew him. He was the second oldest of his brothers and took pride in their family history and dynamic. He cherished his children and grandchildren and was proud to be their "Papa." Above all, he feared the Lord and was guided through Life by the knowledge that the Lord was, indeed, his Shepherd. He loved cars and you might have seen him cruising through the neighborhood with the top down on one of his favorite cars. He was a well-known member of the community and was loved by everyone who knew him. The jokes he would tell could make you laugh until your stomach hurt, but he had a sure way of making everybody feel good. He was an incredibly supportive man, an astounding father, a loving grandfather, an exceptional brother, and a fierce friend. He will truly be missed.
Chris Ingram fought Long and hard in his battle with Leukemia, but he carried with him the words of King David: "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." He departed this life on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Missouri-Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by the family and friends he adored so much.
Chris Ingram leaves to cherish his memories to: his nine children - Cortez (Ebone) Christina (Dwayne Sr.), Angel (Jemail Sr.) Marcus, Jason, Courtlyn, Caliah (Kenneth II), Joshua, and Elijah; three brothers -Curt, Darryl, and Craig (Christine); four sister-in-Laws - JoAnn, Christine, Cynathia, and Caroline; his twenty-five grandchildren - Alexicia, Adrianna, Dwayne Jr., DeAlva, JayLa, Jemaiya, Makayla, Miyonna, Skyler, Marcus Jr., Armani, Carmelo, Cali, Morgan, Chris, Major, Cortez Jr., Brittlyn, Jemaii. Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, If so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, but you thought of us this day. Whatever role you played in consoling our broken hearts, We appreciate and deeply thank you for doing your part.
