Charline Clark Young was born in Sommerville, TN on April 1, 1929, the third of four children to David and Sadie R Clark. She attended Fayette County Training School.
She met and married William Boyd then moved to St. Louis, MO to this union Dauris was born. In January 1951 she married Joseph Young. Her parents, husband and 4 sons, Dauris, Cassell, Gregory and Jonathan and daughter Stephanie Jo and grandson Sean proceeded her in death.
Charline was a LIFELONG Volunteer for the St. Louis Public School District Board of Education to School Office Administration to the classroom. She later worked part time at the Jewish Community Center as a Women's Health Club Attendant for 17 years, retiring in 1999.
Charline was a faithful member of Murchison Tabernacle C.M.E. (formally Cleaves Chapel) where many lifelong friendships and sisterhoods were made. She was a member of the Mass Choir, a Sunday School teacher, the Senior Usher Board and the Stewardess Ministry until her health declined. She loved her family, church family, and friends. She had a deep love for travel, cruising being her favorite way to see the world. Her second greatest pleasure was simply talking with people and sharing warm, genuine conversations. SHE NEVER MET A STRANGER.
She leaves to cherish her memories her twin sister Christine Hobson, sister-in-law Loretta Lloyd, daughters Karen, Charlotte Hurst (Lawrence) and Christine Gayfield (Ronald) and nieces, Greta Clavelle and LaFon Lloyd. Eleven grandchildren Cassell Jr, (Nicole) Corrye (Javier) Kisha (Juan), Lawrence (Maria), Dauris, Autreau, Aurielle, Michael, Lauren, Tahj and Jalen (Natalie). Great Nephews Hosea and Darmaine Clavelle (Kim) Great grandchildren and a host of cousins.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She lived fully, loved deeply, and left a beautiful legacy behind. Though she is no longer with us on Earth, we take solace in knowing her spirt has gone on to a place of perfect peace.
