Charlene Ashcraft

October 8, 1945 — March 2, 2017

Life ReflectionCharlene Ashcraft, at the age of 71, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2017, at Manor Grove in Kirkwood, Missouri. Charlene Jones was born on October 8, 1945 in Michigan City, Mississippi to the late Lelia Jones. Three of her brothers, Winston, Willie and Rufus, and one sister, Elizabeth, preceded her in death. She graduated from high school at the age of 16, skipping two grade levels. On August 8, 1964, she was united in holy matrimony with William Joseph Ashcraft (who preceded her in death). They were blessed with three children, Mischell, Michael and Vickie. Charlene was a member of First Baptist Church of Meacham Park for many years. She later joined Abundant Life until she could no longer attend due to her health. Charlene was a beautician and manicurist in Webster Groves. She was a Grand Associate member of the Eastern Star and loved to travel to different places. Charlene was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. Because she loved to and was a great cook, she was always cooking for family gatherings. She was very generous and would help anyone in need. Although she had such a good heart and always had others best interest in mind, she had a way of telling you what she thought whether it be good or bad. She leaves to mourn her passing: children, Mischell Ashcraft, Michael (Pam) Ashcraft, Vickie Ashcraft, Mahalia (Rufus) Cooley, and Brian (Betty) Loving; grandchildren, Antonio (Megan), Chelsea, Mi, Keith, William, )(aria and Lexi; two great-grandchildren, Antonio II and Kaylee Baker; two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Michigan City, Mississippi and Sadie Doss of Atlanta, Georgia; four brothers, Aaron (Dorothy) Jones, Melvin (Mammie) Webb, George (Flora) Webb, all of Michigan City and Lathan (Tina) Jones of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
