Life ReflectionsCharity Ann Wade was born November 2, 1944 to the late James and Fannie Shields, in Plain Dealings, Louisiana. She was the 14th of 16 children. Charity accepted Christ at an early age, with membership at New Cosmopolitian M.B. Church of Detroit, MI, under the leadership of the late Robert P. Moore and at present, House of Prayer Assembly of Centerville, IL under the leadership of Bishop David & Barnella R. Tabb, where she served faithfully until her home going. Charity loved praising the Lord and singing which she did in the choir many years ago before returning to St. Louis. She also continued to serve as a church nurse.Mother Wade was a very loving, funny and kind person, a giver, true to her name, CHARITY. She was always happy to feed any and everyone and give words of encouragement. Not only was she a cook and caregiver by trade but found enjoyment in those things as well as. She was someone you could go to help you through. Charity grew up in the south where picking cotton was hard for her, as she has often shared with us.Charity met and married Saul Wade and to this union, five children were born, he preceded her in death, she then moved her family to St. Louis, MO where she met Charles Hurst and three children were born to this union. He too preceded her in death.Charity leaves to cherish her love and memories, five children, Jerry (Judy) Wade of St. Louis, MO, Eddie (Deborah) Wade of Lawton, OK, Brenda Wade of Detroit, MI, Charlene (Richard) James and Tammy Wade of St. Louis, MO. Twenty-to grandchildren, Twenty-one great-grandchildren; two loving sisters of St. Louis, MO, Frances Blair. Ora (Paul) Barry; three loving brothers, Joe Thomas (Jessie) Shields of Ponca City, OK, George (Codella) Shields of Dumas, AR, Floyd (Theresa) Shields of Suitland, MD; two aunts, Esther Simpkins of Arhansas, Maggie Harris of Tennessee; a very special niece, Shirley Montgomery; a very close and dear friend, Barbara Gordon-Scharf & family, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, etc….., and cousins & friends.Bishop David E.
