She graduated from Miami Northwestern High School in 1957 and attended college at Florida State University. Carrie accepted Christ at a young age and attended the Church of God Tabernacle True Holiness in Miami. In 1956, Carrie met and fell in love with her devoted husband, Anthony Franklin (Tony) D. Turner, affectionately known as TTT (tall, tan and terrific). They married July 26, 1959 and from this union a family of seven was formed to include five children; Anthoniette, Katrina, Angela, Anthony Franklin,Jr. and La'Shonda. The family moved to St. Louis in the early1970'sand established their church home at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Robertson under the Pastoral leadership of the late Rev.Robert S. Carrie was a faithful and active member and served on the Mother's Board until her time of departure. She was a pillar to the Strengthen Thy Sister's Ministry. Carrie loved her family and found a precious gem in her husband of more than 50 years. Her family was raised with an abiding faith in God.They trained up their children in the way they should go so when they grew up they would not depart from it. Carrie believed strongly that "The Lord is my Shepard and I shall not want". She found joy in cooking family dinner every Sunday after church for her children and her grand-chlldren. Because of her never ending love and sacrifices she will live on in their hearts and minds forever. Surely the Lord is saying to her, "well done thy good and faithful servant".
