He was educated in the Arkansas Public School System. He became the man of the house and had to drop out of school at the young age of 14 to support his mom and sisters, as he was the only son. He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age. He later moved to Chicago, lilinois in the mid 1950's where he resided until 1998. He then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and later relocated to St. Louis, Missouri in 200. Benjamin was joined in Holy matrimony to Lillian (A.K.A. "Sis") Burnside on January 1, 1999 and celebrated their 9th anniversary on January 1, 2008. B.J. was a proud hard working man. After he moved to St. Louis, he would go back to Chicago every summer because he still wanted to work and he did, until his health began to fail in 2006. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife Lillian Williams, 10 children: James Earl Williams of California, Barbara Jean Bell of Chicago, Illinois, Loretta (Kalvin) Brown of Garland, Texas, Michael Williams of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tommy Lee Gibson of Marietta, Georgia, Jeaneta Gibson and Shirley (Baby Girl) Butler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carl (Senetta) Gibson of Chicago, Illinois, Roy (Savoria) Gibson of Marietta, Georgia, Kalvin (Celeste) Gibson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Juanita (George) Shannon of Chicago, Illinois and Sarah Harris of Dallas, Texas; one aunt, Courtney Young, of Marvell, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One special cousin, Owen young, who took over the lawn care for him. Two very special friends, Marlvin Hoskins of Chicago, Illinois and Pearl Burnside (sister-in-law, A.K.A.
