Ava Latrice Davis

Life Reflection Ava Latrice Turner was an exceptional person who was sweet and caring and possesseda unique way of making all those around her feel loved and supported; if you were her family,you were also her friend and if you were a friend then you were also her family. This was thetrait that made all who knew Ava gravitate toward and cling to her comforting spirit. Ava willlive on through numerous family and friends, who had the pleasure of sharing her joys, triumphs,laughter, and infectious smile throughout the years. Ava was born on July 10th, 1984, to parents Karen Louise Turner and Alfred Stone Jenkins, Sr.both of whom preceded her in death. Adopted by her grandparents, Leonard Turner and Toni Fortis, she was raised in Webster Groves, MO where she graduated from Webster GrovesHigh School in 2003. Soon after, Ava enlisted in the United States Air Force as a military police officer, where she served bravely for four years. During her time in the military, Ava earned an associate degree in criminal justice, and she completed three tours in Iraq, fightingfor the freedom of others. Ava rightfully earned the title of Senior Airman of the year duringher years of service. In 2012, Ava was honorably discharged from her military service as a Senior Airman-C4.She immediately went on to earn dual bachelor's degrees in Accounting and Finance, and subsequently earned her master's degree in Accounting from Valdosta State University. Ava worked in the financial industry at Wells Fargo where she had many accomplishments during her career. In 2018, Ava married Aaron M. Davis and gained a bonus son, Aaron Justice Davis(Mckenna Walker) who gave Ava two beautiful grandsons, Carter and Carson Davis. Ava was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer on January 5, 2018, at the age of 33.After numerous chemotherapy treatments, radiation, surgeries, experimental treatments, and expert opinions from top physicians across the country, Ava's journey with cancer cameto a peaceful end on December 9th, 2021, surrounded by her husband, family, and friends. In her spare time, Ava donated and volunteered to numerous non-profit organizations withthe desire to make a difference in the lives of others. While facing health difficulties in her ownlife, Ava still found the strength to continue to lend out a helping hand. Cherishing her memories are Ava's loved ones left behind; husband, Aaron M. Davis; son, Aaron Justice Davis (Mckenna Walker); grandchildren, Carter and Carson Davis; grandparents, Ardelbert and Gladys Jenkins (preceded in death), Leonard (Augusta) Turner, Drusilla (Floyd) Crues, Toni Fortis; siblings, Alfred Stone Jenkins Jr., Alisha Jenkins (Derick Bowen), Michelle (Dawanzelle) Hopson, Ma Jenkins (Shon Henry), Alyse Jenkins, Adrienne (Mel) Jenkins, Apryl Jenkins (preceded in death), Juanita Bell; nieces and nephews, DaiMeara Bowen, Derick Bowen, Jr., Brayden Jenkins, Skylar Jenkins, Dawanzelle Hopson, Jr., Maxwell Hopson,Ian Sanders, London, and Brooklynn Henry, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
