Audrey Mae Lindsey

June 13, 1943 — December 11, 2020

Life Reflections Audrey H. Lindsey, affectionately known as "Cookie" was the seventh child of nine born June 13, 1943 to the union of George and Louise (Davis) Martin. Both her parents and five sisters, Mable, Lois, Sally, Gwendolyn and Georgetta preceded her in death. Audrey grew up in the Richmond Heights community and received her formal education from the Maplewood Richmond Heights school district. She graduated from Maplewood Richmond Heights Senior high in 1962. She went on to obtain her diploma in Cosmetology and Hairdressing from the Ruth Flower Institute of Cosmetology in 1967. Audrey started her own hair salon "Audrey's Coiffure", and later serviced the community at her in-home Beauty Salon. Audrey also worked for American Mutual Insurance Company as a Workers Compensation Specialist and was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lutheran Senior Services. She also worked for private families and as a babysitter for neighbors, friends and family. Audrey was a member of the first Church of God from her childhood until her passing. She was a strong-willed person who did not mind speaking her mind and sharing her advice. She was loving and always willing to extend in whichever way she could. She loved to bake her delicious pound cakes and other homemade goods during the Holidays. She was always excited and proud of her beautiful Christmas Tree. Audrey was a woman who wore many Hats, and was a life saver to most. She leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her passing: two daughters, Rita Tinsley and Daphne Thomas (David); godson Cordell Burnett; four grandchildren, Brandy Hearton (Travis), Britten Hearton, Charles Canada (Diamond) and Karmen Phillips (Garrett); and mother-in-law, Ruth Sabb; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin (Sylvia) Martin, Joseph Martin and Steven (Peggy) Martin; and brother-in-law, Charles Mundy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friend, Jacqueline Coffee.
