ObituaryLife ReflectionsSunrise for Arlandrew J. Tate came on January 5, 1944 to John M. and Jessie O. Tate, in St. Louis, MO, both parents preced,ed him in death. Andy was the first born of five children, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age. Andy was baptized and became a member of First Baptist Church of Meachem Park under the leadership of Reverend Buckner and later Reverend George Sebree. Andy was educated in the Kirkwood R-7 School District and graduated from Kirkwood Nigh in 1964, his pursuit of higher education began at North East MO State Teachers College but was put on hold with him being drafted into U.S. Army, in which he served for 6 years including time in Vietnam where he was wounded and received the Purple Neart for bravery, SgtjE6 First Calvj45th lnf. Before his stint in the service and college Andy and a group of his peers were known as the Day Dreamers, they performed at the Chase Park Plaza and other venues around St. Louis. One of their famous back up musicians was Mr. David Sanborn who also attended Kirkwood Nigh with members of the group. Andy was also a drummer (never boasted of this talent) a free-lance photographer, and an avid music collector and sports nut. After his discharge from the Army 1973, Andy moved to Santa Monica, CA and resumed his education this time in RadiojTelephone Operations completing his required studies with Don Martin School of Broadcast. Andy earned his 3rd, 2nd &. 1st class licensure from 1976, 1978 &. in 1987 received his life time licensure from the FCC. Andy also continued studies at Maryville University and Narris Stowe as well as continuing courses with the railroad. Upon returning to St. Louis in 1972 Andy worked for the Missouri PacificjUnion Pacific Railroad as a Communications Specialist for 32 years until his retirement in 2004. Andy lived the life spoken of in 1 st John 4:12-21. • Following are many loved ones who rejoice in his transition to eternal life, John M. (nee Frances), Octavia Nicks (Gary L.)
